TheXrayGourmet...
Glad to hear you're enjoying your program and doing so well in it. Yes, I had to do an essay, but not on radiation protection. We did other projects as well...the instructors keep us busy, that's for sure.
I'm on my last break now, I start my final semester this month. It will be clinicals and a seminar course that will take us through the last 2 year's worth of knowledge to prepare us for the registry exam.
Jimmynuetron...
Best of luck to you in your program. If it's anything like ours, it won't be a 2 year break though...I can't wait until all I have to do is work again. _________________ <JESUS>< |

Less money but would rather stay local and close to the family. I am 36 so prob the oldest guy going to RT school but really looking forward to it and taking a break for the 2 years.
Good luck to you. |
If you are the oldest guy, then I must be the oldest girl, 36 with two kids. I'm still finishing up my prereqs, holding a 4.0 for now. I'll be starting the RAD program in Jan 2010, seems so far away and I should be retiring at that point, lol. The past two semesters have flown buy so I know it will go by pretty fast. Good luck to you and have fun with that 2-year break, lol. I'm with Kevin, I'm only taking prereqs but I'm already thinking it will be nice to just work when it's all said and done. |

I have been an optometric tech for 17 years so this is a big change. do you worry about the market being flooded? I have seen alot of blogs on this and its a little scarey to me. Well I just wanted ya to know that there are alot of us in this age range going back to school. Good Luck |

I'm thrilled to hear about ummmmm 'more mature' students - I think you guys are terrific!
IN GENERAL, older students are better motivated, less focused on grades and more focused on mastering the material.
GOOD LUCK to all of you

Ya!!!! for the older....ooops wiser growd!! As far as the market being flooded, my hope is that by the time we graduate it will swing back the other way. With that said, here in the Phoenix area I'm still seeing a lot of job postings. So we'll see. |
