Wahoo! The first semester is over (last final today), and it was a blast.
I ended up with an A for clinicals, an A for Intro to Radiology, and an A for Positioning I. I was running an A in Nursing all semester, but got a B on the final today...I'll find out next week if I get an A there, or dropped to an overall B.
I now have a week off before the summer term starts. I'm moving from a hospital to a clinic for my clinical rotation, so I'll get a lot more experience with scheduled patients as opposed to ER stuff. Should be good for my contrast comps.
I'm really loving this program, I just wish I'd have started earlier. We have Positioning II and Exposure I this summer...I'm really looking forward to the Exposure class.
If you're finishing up a semester, let us know where you're at and how things are going. Take care. _________________ <JESUS>< |

That's great to hear. I'm done with a school year now applying to a program nearby and hoping that I get in the program of 18 students. I did horrible on my ACT exam...I got a 20 but I've gotten all A's on my pre-requisite courses and made the Dean's List with a 3.7 gpa.....I hope this will increase my chances. Anyways, congratulations on the success of your semester. |

Hi Kevin,
Just curious, are you going to Valencia CC or Florida hospital or somewhere else? |

Kevin,
Yes I live in Orlando and I am attending Valencia CC. I am waiting to hear if I was accepted in either their RT or Ultrasound programs. I should hear something by the middle of June. I have visited Polk CC and it is a nice campus. |

Just a head's up...PCC is starting an ultrasound program too now, possibly as early as August. They've already started a respiratory therapy program, and have a cath lab tech program starting in August. The cath lab and ultrasound programs are stand alone 2 year programs, and will also have a 1 year crossover curriculum for current RT's. _________________ <JESUS>< |

Kevin,
Thanks for the info. The ultrasound program at Valencia is very difficult to get into. They only accept 10 students a year. I can always use a plan b. |

Is PCC hard to get into? What is the admission process based on? GPA or first come first serve?
Thanks |
