Finishing up my last stretch in radiography coursework. Besides pre-employment drug screening, is it a frequent thing to test xray techs?

I just think it's hilarious I could be a raging drinker or hooked up on harder drugs but I get shafted because I smoke a joint AFTER work.

You can stop feeling persecuted - you can get "shafted" for being a raging drinker or hooked up on harder drugs, as well.

Frequency of testing is solely at the discretion of the institution. I've worked in facilities that never tested, and those that tested anyone about whom there was a complaint.

Frankly, I think it's a good thing. You know, patient safety and all that.

hjh, RT
