To be considered for what?

To be considered to enter an educational program for meidcal coding? To get a job as a medical coder?

Your best bet is to go where there is accurate information. One place to start is here:

Many departments require 60 semester hours, some will waive for 2 years active some only for 4 years active. I see some that take 2 years active as equal to 30 semester hours.
Some are now requiring bachelors degrees.
Many require a bachelors to get promoted to the rank of sergeant and above.
While in the service it is easily for you to get lots of college hours in. I know lots of guys in for 4 years who go their AAs.
