Hello all
I went to a college for 2 yrs before I enjoyed R.T. based hospital school. I have 60 credits at that college and i was told i can get an Associate in science, or in Arts. My question, does it help being R.T. (R) with Associate in science or arts in an employment level? or it doesn't really matter?
Thanks a lot

It honestly shouldn't make a difference (how does that degree help with your job?), but it doesn't hurt either.

As long as the hospital based program allows you to become a member of the ARRT you shouldn't worry about the associates. It may help if you want to go into management or education though.

Im currently in a 2 year program through the comminuty college and working towards an A.S. The reason I chose the degree route is for the possabilty for later advancement. In Most places if you want to get into education you need a degree higher than your students. Therefore, if you are planning to teach students in a college based A.S.S. or A.S. program you will need a Bachelor's. However, I recently read in RT Image that soon it will require a Masters to teach such a program. Of course you can be an adjunct instructor under a Bachelor or Masters Program admistrator.

To answer you qeustion though it depends on your carreer goals. Hospital based programs are great for getting you in the field as an RT but will not likely be conducive for much advancement without considerable working experience.
