Contraindicated Diabetic Meds for Contrast

Is the a complete list of diabetic drugs that need to be stopped until a 48 hr creatinine check is done anywhere here? Here is the list I have.

Here’s my updated guideline list of metformin diabetic drugs, we use in our CT department, which require a post contrast 48 hour renal fucntion test. We get our list from the hospital pharmacist. It seems this list will never end!!

As of March 10th 2008.

1. Actoplus MET - Pioglitazone Hcl and Metformin HCl

2. Avandamet - Rosiglitazone Maleate and Metformin HCl

3. Fortamet - Metformin HCl

4. Glucophage - Metformin HCl

5. Glucophage XR - Metformin HCl

6. Glucovance - Glyburide and Metformin

7. Glumetza - Metformin HCl

8. Janumet - Sitagliptin Metformin HCl

9. Metaglip - Glipizide and Metformin

10. Metformin - Metformin

11. Riomet - Metformin HCl

12. Glycomet-generic Metformin
