so i just had a question, i'm currently working on my 2 year degree in RT, but i heard that if you want to like be a supervisor or teach at a school(which i think i will want to do later in my life) then you need a bachlors or masters degree. so my question is if the degree im working on now will count towards any more school i want to do later down the road? like for example i think a masters is 6 years, so if i already have 2 does that mean i only need to go back to school for 4 years, if that makes any sense? anyone understand what im trying to say?

well, it depends on the state regulations, etc. etc. etc.

most places (i think, help me out here guys) the bachelors is all you need to teach. i know here in virginia, all you need is your RT to teach post exam stuff (CT, MRI, Sectional Anatomy, etc)

In order to teach in any collegiate program, you'll need at least a 4-year degree. Many places will not hire you without a Master's. Supervisory? Depends on the hospital. Some facilities have policies about what level of education is required for supervisory positions. And, although one of my favorite dept director's had only a 2-year degree and multiple years of experience ... that is less and less common. In order to lead a department, advertisements usually specify a Master's.

If you are finishing your associate, then yes. At least some of that will count toward your BA/BS. There are online degree programs designed for RT's with an AA that will allow you to finish your BS totally online. How much credit you get for your AA depends on the BS Degree program. They're all different.

Good luck
