I graduated from a AS in Radiography program in June 2006, took my boards exam in June 2006 (and passed!), and was awarded my license. Since my birthday was in May (and I took my boards exam in June.. the month after) my CEU biennium did not start until the following year (May 2007) and expires April 30, 2009.

Since I graduated from my AS in Radiography in June 2006, I immediately started my Bachelors of Health Sciences degree in September 2006 and graduated with my BS in May 2008. Also, I have been taking night classes from September 2008-present in computer courses (just so I can eventually go on to RIS/PACS Administration...

My question is... I need to renew my ARRT by the end of April 2009. I have TONS of college credits (all them either science, math, nursing, computer, psychology, etc. related... only a few art/music/philosophy courses)...

I know there is a PDF doc on ARRTs website explaining CEUs... from what I got out of it, if you took college courses that were science, computer, math, etc. related and got a "C" or better, you would be awarded 16 CEUs for every 1 college semester credit. Well... 1 college class equals 3 semester credits and I have at least 60 or more of them over the past few years!

How do I get these to count toward CEUs... I'd feel much more comfortable having them evauluated and documented by someone from the ARRT so I new what was acceptable, how many I had, what they were worth, etc... If you know who to send them to/what to do about this, please give me contact info!

Also, as I am assuming I have WAY more CEUs than I need, can they be transferred to bienniums in the future? Seeing as 2 college credits = 32 CEUs (if it does hold true that 1 college semester credit = 16 CEUs)... it would seem I would have enough CEUs for a lifetime!

I am not sure how to go about this and no one I work with in the field is in this situation or knows what to do... They just do the ASRT magazine CEUs...

Please help and thanks!! Laughing

I'm not sure I know the answer to your CEU questions but I'd contact the ARRT directly as soon as you can (Why wait to the last minute?). The ARRT may have to evaluate your courses and you MAY have to send them additional documentation such as course outlines, your transcripts or ???????

www.arrt.org

I'd suggest calling them at (651) 687-0048 ext. 540 for the best answers.

I have a feeling your recently completed college courses MAY count towards CEUs this renewal IF they were completed in your biennium (5/07-4/09) and the ARRT approves them.

For your next biennium, you'd have to do another 24 CEUs (minimum) within that time frame (or pass another registry exam within the next biennium to satisfy the CEU requirement. Maybe QM if you're interested?)

Good luck!
