Can anyone tell me how much time Clinical Instructors are to spend with students? Should the CI's be hired by the colleges? Also how much time Clinical Coordinators should visit affiliates versus academic instruction? |

Try the JCERT. ARRT and ASRT web pages . Personally I was a CI employeed by the hospital and spent approx 2-5 hours/week doing CI duties. _________________ iraydee8 |

Last facility CT spent half-time working the floor, half-time with students. When there were no students in house, she spent half-time doing other projects at the directors discretion.
Never seen a facility where CI was hired by the program. They're "owned" by the facility, with an agreed amount of time for students and program functions. I've seen a lot of institutions where, because of staffing issues, the CI had a really tough time getting appropriate, agreed-on amount of time to spend with students. |

Our school hires our own clinical instructors and we have 1 clinical coordinator, who travels between all the hosptials letting each instructor have an office day. Our CI's spend from 7:45 till whenever clinical is over with us. (depending on your semester it can range from 1:15 till 2:30) We always have someone from school with us at the hospitals. WTCC hires the instructors and our hospitals work with WTCC and let the instructors come in and teach us. |
