I haven't entered a program as of yet, still completing pre-requisites, but wanted to know if anyone had considered sonography as opposed to radiology? I know they require complete and seperate training. I'm trying to determine if radiology offers more on-the-job training in various areas - where you wouldn't necessary have to quit your job to go back to school so as to become more marketable. Ultrasound appears (at least to me), a little too specialized...but then again, I am still learning about both career paths. Also, do you feel your chances of getting a job are better with radiology than ultrasound? I know the gov't reports sonographers will have rapid growth...but wondering if there will be many openings each year. Entering the healthcare field will be a career change for me, so I'm just trying to investigate as much as possible beforehand. Thank you for letting me ask this in your forum considering I am still in the decision phase!
