I was just wondering, after you get a certification, do you have to get recertified every so often? I am going through a hospital and in the end I will be certified, and I didnt know if that certification lasts or if I would have to redue it every year or so??

You're going through a hospital program, and in the end you will be graduated. Then you'll have to take a national certification exam in order to be certified.

In order to maintain that certification, you'll have to 1) pay a fee every year and 2) complete a number of CEU's (continuing education units) every two years. They can be in the form of readings (that you're then tested on), attendance at conferences, etc. See the ARRT website for more information regarding CEU's.

In 2015 Im under the impression that you have to have a degree to be certified, will this affect me if I get certified without a degree? I hope this makes since

According to the ARRT website -
"The new ARRT regulation states that candidates applying for certification beginning January 1, 2015, must have earned an associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degree from an institution accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the ARRT. The degree does not need to be in the radiologic sciences."

'Candidates applying for certification beginning January 1, 2015 ...' You're in a program now, hopefully you'll graduate and take your exam before Jan 2015? Right?

The degree requirement applies to students who apply for certification starting Jan 1, 2015.

Oh, I understand having questions, believe me.

But remember, you'll get better information going to the source - http://www.arrt.org than you'll ever get from an anoymous forum. Be cautious what you read in anonymous forums. There's a lot of crap out there.
