I don't know anything about the modality itself, but I am a huge baseball fan.

Anyway, I came across a picture on the internet that supposedly is of Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez's shoulder. Could somebody please look at tell me if this:

A) Looks authentic
B) A diagnosis, please.

TIA!

This is a poor quality image. But from the looks of it, there is shoulder joint effusion tracking to the subacromial bursa- it might be a case of rotator cuff tear (tear of the supraspinatus tendon)

i think here is supraspinatus tear as it could not be traced. But need more images to confirm my findings. Smile

Ouch, it looks very painful. Looks like he tore his muscle at that point. I wonder who the baseball player is anyways. I hope he gets better.

There was a question from someone wondering if this post was a violation of HIPAA laws. What does everyone think? I wonder if this falls under the celebrity/public figure area like photographing and writing about them?

I think it's ok since it's a public figure and most likely is not even an image of his shoulder since he's been pitching fine. Wink

Have a great day!
