When calculating what my pixel size is I got myself a little confused on the equation. If my FOV is 350mm and matrix size is 512 is my calculation:
350 / 512 =0.68359375mm

or is it:
(350*350) / (512*512) = 122500 / 262144 = 0.4673004150390625

Thanks

The display field of view and the matrix determine the pixel size. The size of the pixel can be determined by dividing the field of view by the matrix size.

Pixel size = Field of view / Matrix size

or

Field of view = Pixel size X Matrix size

In this case, you are dividing the length of all the pixels at one side of the matrix by the number of pixels. That gives you the length of one pixel.

Here you are dividing the area of your matrix by the total number of pixels in that area, which gives you the area of one pixel.

In fact, 0.68359375 x 0.68359375 = 0.4673004150390625

So your pixel size is 0.683 mm x 0.683 mm or 0.467 mm^2.
Both are correct! Smile
