|
I'm currently studying for the ARRT, which I take next week....eeeeek! I know that you get a preliminary score once you finish the exam which is supposed to give you an idea of how you did. It's not the official grade, but I was wondering if anyone knew how accurate it is? I don't want the preliminary grade to say I got a 75, and then find out my official grade was a fail.
Any ideas of how close it is to the official grade?
Thanks! |

*ahem* to all yall new techs getting ready to take the boards....
relax. it's just a test. either you know it, or you don't. the more you stress out about it, the harder it'll be.
papa
p.s., i barely passed x-ray school (i wasn't really the classroom type), but i got a 92 on my boards. relax. _________________

|
I let my registry lapse...so, I am retaking the exam in 3 short weeks. I have a pretty good book to study from, but feel that I'm lacking something. It has been 1 1/2 years since I worked, but, been in the field 19 years. Can anyone who recently took the test give me some advice about what areas need extra study time? stressed out!! |

The best way to analyze the registry is by the numbers. There is a specific breakdown of the exam. There are a certain number of questions for each section. The breakdown can be viewed at the following link:
http://www.arrt.com/examinations/contentspecs/RAD_CS_2008.pdf
The biggest portion of the exam is Radiation protection, Image production and Eval., and Equipment operation and quality control. Knowing these three categories is a MUST.
The biggest portion of radiographic procedures is extremities (22 questions).
Take a look at the breakdown and you will have a lot of insight into the test.
I took the test in January and found it to be easier than any of the finals that I took in school. Scored a 95.
Good luck,

I only studied Correctec and I made a 98 on my exam. I told some of the other students that they should concentrate their time on this study guide and they all scored 80 or better. The questions are worded exactly like they are on the exam. While I had a few other books to look at I really spent most of my time going over my Correctec. |

my preliminary score and actual score were also the same, and i agree the registry was way easier than those mock exams we kept taking in school. however i must disagree with the previous poster about correctec. i know alot of people who studied that and alot failed. anyone who studied just that failed, all of them. i know a girl from the class before mine who failed 3 times! all she studied was correctec, so to any students reading this i would not recommend correctec. i post here on a semi regular basis so im not trying to promote anything lol but i heard about http://www.radrevieweasy.com/ through word of mouth about a month before i took the registry. i heard everyone who used that past, so i used that, just that actually and i passed with a 88, not the highest score ever but i was pretty happy! but we spread the word around school and the entire class has used it and so far everyone to take it has passed. im not saying thats gonna ensure you pass, but it will def help, numbers done lie. |
