Is that why you chose radiology? Because you like to help people? Do you know what the radiology field is about? What drew you to this profession? No one can answer this but you.

This is the purpose of the essay to go along with your application. You need to sell yourself on why you want to be a Radiographer.

Good luck!

You're right ... it does sound cliche, doesn't it?

It'll help if you can remember exactly when you thought of this as a profession. Think back to what made you think of radiolography - did you know someone in the field? Did you use the services of a radiology department and that got you interested? Did you read something or see something on television? Is that what sparked your interest? Write about what that was like - how it made you feel, what EXACTLY about it interested you.

Although we're all geared toward being useful to others.. that's why we're here ... that's rarely how we GOT here.

For some it's the excitement of being in a hospital or ER environment, for others, it's the technical aspects of the job that are the real draw. Some are lured by the drama, some (few, I hope) just want a job.

SOMETHING (besides "I want to help people") got you here. After all, if you're a librarian, you're helping people .. but that isn't what you chose. THIS - why did you choose THIS? Talk it through in your head first, then write it down.

Good luck. Don't panic.
