|
Hello all! I have a question for those seasoned techs as to how they felt when they first started out. I will be finished next week with my clinical. I am feeling a bit nervous....I do not have a job lined up just yet and I am afraid I will lose my skills while waiting for employment. I feel I am a good tech...I'm just really feeling the stress right now. Did you feel when you first started the "flop" sweats, self-doubt, etc...or am I the only one?
Thanks!! |

I've been working for over a year now and yesssss it is very nerve racking! don't worry, you will find work if you are a good tech. Just be prepared for a ton of stress. I could hardly sleep or eat for months, I was so nervous! Make sure you get in at a place that will help you to grow, not one that expects you know everything already. Good luck! |

Yup, sonicki give good advice. Oh yeah! I think it's an inevitable phase in which we all have experienced. Just stay focused and exposed ( so as not to loose your skills) | jg1970 wrote: | Hello all! Having been doing ultrasound for 14 years (all areas) it does get easier with the confidence/experience you gain. But I am still learning, have to look back at a book for that forgotten measurement norm, and evey once in a while the Im not sure what I am looking at exam. Just remember that everyday is a learning experience doing ultrasound, learn as much as you can and if you do not know, ask, no question is dumb if YOU do not know the answer. Ultrasound is the best field there is. |
