A trick that I used during my clinicals that really helped me was to develope a "dynamic speaking voice". Much confidence can be gained by projecting your voice and speaking with purpose. Speak like you have been doing it for 20 years. Lower your pitch a little and raise the volume a few notches. Your voice can project confidence. I know it sounds crazy, but give it a try. Your voice can even convince yourself that you are confident, and when you have confidence you will have success.
When all else fails, stop and take a deep breath. Relax...proficiency comes with practice.
