I just got my letter in the mail yesterday, and I have been accepted to my local community college (Pitt Community College) radiography program! The program begins in Fall 2007. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I have never worked in a medical / healthcare type of setting before, so that will be different. It feels great knowing that soon I will be learning and working in something that will allow me to earn a decent income and help take care of people in a field that truely fascinates me. I do plan to work at least part-time, as I have a wife that works and a 2 year old son who depends on me. I am looking forward to the challenge this program might give me, every other college class I have taken has felt too easy and didn't make me flex the ol' noggin enough. |

Congratulations.
I hope you find the program both challenging and rewarding. _________________ <JESUS>< |

hello
first off, congratulations on getting accepted. i have yet to hear from my "authorities" to see if I've gotten accepted. I had a question for you or for anyone who has experienced the process of being accepted
how long did it take, after sending in your application, for you to hear from the people that accept students? It's only been a couple of weeks so far for me but our program doesn't start until Spring 2008.
Thanks for any info, much appreciated
And again, congrats. take it all in with a grain of salt and be consciously greatful about the position you're now in. Have fun. |

After I submitted my application it took a long time-can't remember exactly, I'd have to get my college papers out, I'll guess at least two months if not more to rec' the letter stating I'd be put on the wait list! Lot of applicants... |

The acceptance process at the school I am attending, and the school I was accepted into last fall but declined take a long time to respond.
Both are community technical schools, both have about 150 to 200 applications a year, and both accept about 20 to 25 students.
I begin a program in July and actually started taking core classes in 2005 for this program. When I started, they simply accepted students on a first-come/first-served basis.
Last year, they made entry more competitive but still grandfathered in those who were on the waiting list for this summer. There were actually 9 spots available...fortunately, I was accepted.
Does it sound confusing....it has been.
In addition, neither school sent letters if you were not accepted, only if you were.
