I've been wanting to go into the medical field for quite some time. I have a huge interest in medical imaging. Here's the thing. I just completed Anat & Phys I as one of the prereqs for the program. I got a pretty decent grade, B. The sad thing is, I really didn't learn a thing. I found it to be pretty difficult and didn't retain much information at all (if anything really). I will need to know this stuff if I get accepted into the program and Im feeling pretty freaked out. How will I ever get through the program if Im not good in Anatomy & Physiology??? Any advice??

Im waiting to find out if I got into my program, but I had to take A&P 1 and 2. When I finished A&P1 I thought the same thing, I said oh man I dont remember this stuff at all, Ill never figure this out Yada Yada Yada...

When I started A&P 2 I retained WAY more info than I thought. It just took some time for it to surface. Now Im through all pre-reqs and am now tutoring a friend in A&P! Trust me you may think you dont remember anything, but you will find you know more than you realize. Good Luck!

A couple of thoughts:

1. Anatomy is reviewed extensively during your rad program. You'll have another opportunity to get it all down again.

2. That being said, being able to visualize bone anatomy is a critical skill to have as a tech. If you struggle with it now, whats it going to be like when your in school?

3. Physiology is not extensively covered in a rad program. It essentially provides a background understanding for what goes on in the body at the cellular level.

My question to you is...

Sure you have difficulty with it, which is OK, but do you REALLY want to learn it? I mean... when I get a nice open mortise joint on an oblique ankle, I get all goose-bumpy.

If you view anatomy as tedious, find another profession.

i personally had to take A&P like 3 times just to pass it.

Fall semester=F
Spring semester=D
Summer semester=C

like funnybones said, the question isn't whether or not it was difficult or not. the question is whether or not you want to learn it.

after a while, it'll become second nature to you.

good luck!
