Which Career Has The Most Opportunity, Mri Tech, Ultrasound Tech Or Biomedical Equipment Tech?
I want to go to school for one of these professions. Im 38 yrs old and wanted opinions on each and the amount of schooling needed. Im looking for a secure career that will pay well

I know for a fact GE and other major imaging companies like Toshiba and so on has to cut back on the budget and let go thousands of workers from the economy so I wouldn’t say being a biolomedical equipment tech is a wise choice right now esp that you don’t have experience. For MRI, I wouldn’t do it unless you are an xray tech already and have a guarantee job after graduation so those 20k amrit schools for mri are scams! Employers like to hire a technologist who is not only ARRT registered in MRI but also went to xray school and not limited xray school either. There are jobs in ultrasound but most of them are per diem and again there are schools for ultrasound that likes to scam people also for their money due to people’s lack of knowledge in the field. Regardless what students tell you or those scam artists, employers like to only hire CAAHEP accredited ultrasound gradutes who are ARDMS registered! Since I bet you pick the medical field because you think you will get a full timie job with decent pay after 2 years with some preequisities completed within a year or 2, go for physical therapy assistant. That field is booming with all honesty.
It’s more of a personal preferance, but I’d pick Bio equipment tech.
