What Is The Job Market Like For Radiology Technicians?? I Live In California.?
Was thinking of going to school for Rad Tech and am wondering what the job market is like for this occupation. I have reviewed the Labor Statistics site already, but I am hearing that the job market for RT isnt too strong since there are so many new graduates and not enough work…. TRUE??

Everybody thinks there is big demands for health care due to aging population. Actually it depends on economy.
Right now, so many people lost their jobs,no job means no insurance, they will not either seek medical treatment or pay the medical bills.Just like Teacher, police, firefighter…. there is big shortage, but there is big lay off to balance budget.
Contrary to big money of doctor, nurse making, many hospitals are in debt, our hospital has a couple of thousands patients everyday, but with 5000 employees, how much salary the hospital will spend on? the situation will get worst in the economy downturn. Many new graduates especially some Medical Assistant, Radiology, Lab tech… can’t find a job because the positions are saturated and they don’t have experience.
Anyway, do whatever you like, and build up social network, get a lot of practical experience, and first job.
true and no it’s not a trade you can just learn either. CA is the best state of jobs right now for all modalities across the radiology field. your best bet of a job is CA but even that the job opportunites in CA is dwindling.
go to kaisers web site or john muir medical. the health industry is very strong. you can always relocate. at least you have a trade.
