What schools in WI have accredited sonography (ultrasound tech) programs?

I’ve looked online and can’t seem to find anything! There is a lot of forms to fill out that lead to no information. Any assistance would help out greatly! thanks.

Which is a better career choice in terms of mobility, and future job prospects? Sonography or Radiology?

I was looking into Radiologic Technology and Diagnostic Medical Sonography for career choices. It looks like Sonography pays better, but they both have various areas of specialization. Are they basically the same or does either exceed the other in marketability, job prospects, mobility, etc…

I REALLY want to go to school to become an ultrasound tech. Specifically an Obstetric and Gynecological Sonographer. I want to do ultrasounds on women who are pregnant, and things like that. I have always been so interested in it ESPECIALLY after i became pregnant with my daughter.

Has anyone on here had a personal expierience on going to school for this?
What classes are required?
How much do they usually make on average?
I just want to make sure im not wasting my time by taking certain classes. I know i want to do this for sure i just gotta get goin on it!

I have called several school about it and most talk a lot about taking radiology classes, and i dont mind taking at least 4 years to go to school for it, but i need some advice on where to start…

I am trying to firgure out which is the better program for me to go into. I have all the pre-reqs for both, I am just trying to figure out financially which program would be the best choice? Which do you think is the all around best? Thanks

What is the difference between Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Ultrasound technician?

I’m interested in being an ultrasound technician, but it seems it may also be called diagnostic medical sonography? I’ve been trying google but it’s confusing me. So whats the difference?

Also, any tips to get started in that field? i’ve been looking up ultrasound tech schools, would i just enroll in that after i get my A.A.?
Ok thank you! So I would just do general, cardiac or vascular?

I posted my request for help already and got the same response which led me to ask here. Try PCC. Having already contacted the majority of the schools I can think of in my area (as well as those accredited beyond a reasonable commute to see if I can work something out) let me just say it was PCC that responded to me confirming that they do NOT have a program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography / Sonographer or Ultrasound. What PCC Currently has (as of an emailed response dated 8/6/08 and their website) are a Radiography program earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree as well as a nine month program for MRI Technologist Training IF you are already one of the following: Applicants must be currently credentialed Radiography Technologists, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, Nuclear Medicine Technologists or Radiation Therapy Technologists.
I am STILL currently actively searching for ANY program in the Portland Metro area (1.5 hour commute from Cornelius or less preferred).

How does a person really interested in making this career change find training in this field without needing to uproot the family for schooling? I am married with school age children and relocating for school is simply not an option. Help?
**UPDATE – awaiting response from Mountain College, although they may have the same require ments as I encountered from Florida as they are BS programs:
Associate Degree from a regionally-accredited institution OR a Certificate from a CAAHEP accredited sonography program AND currently registered in sonography by ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT.
I am still looking for the Associate Degree program so I can take the ADRMS??? Baby steps!

I would like to start a new career in San Francisco or Bay Area (California at least) Hope some one will give me any advise and provide information what best way to do this an how much I should spend to make it fast. I am from different country and have an education from there, but it wont help, because it was Business Law. Hope to become a specialist in other sphere!!!
