My 15 month old daughter is scheduled to get an MRI at a children’s hospital 100 miles away this Wednesday. This is the closest hospital that can do it because she will have to be sedated because of her age. It is very important that she get this done because they suspect that she suffered brain damage at birth that has resulted in motor and language delays. The problem is that we do not have the money right now to drive this far with gas at a gallon. Where can we get help to get our daughter to her appointment?

I live in rural Michigan. There are no buses that drive this distance and no big towns in between. I have already been trying to find help. Everyone is hurting to much from losing most of the jobs in our area to have money to spare so nobody is able to take us.
It is probably true that every hospital will sedate in an emergency. However, this is a planned MRI and the risk of injury due to the sedation is higher because she is a baby. The hospital (and us) would rather send her to a place that specializes in sedating infants and children. They don’t want to be sued and we don’t want our daughter to accidentally be hurt because the anesthesiologist is not use to sedating infants.

I know what they do, and i know how much they mad…but i would like to know what schooling i need. I have read a few different answers and they are all contradictory.

Do i need to go to college for Radiography first and then take another two-year program…or something else?

I was leaning towards an associates Health Info Technology (i.e. coding) but the demand for nurses is high also. I really want to go into radiology though. What will get me working the fastest so that i can continue a more advanced degree.

One of the prerequisites is College Algebra & Trigonometry. The math credit cannot be more than 7 years old. I took College Algebra, but when I apply for the program it will have been 8 yrs since I took that course. The prereq info states that it has to be taken within the past 7 yrs. Do you think that it is possible for the college to overlook that one year past deadline & I can still be eligible? Or will I have to take College Algebra all over again? Has anyone had experience with this before? Please help! I don’t want to call the school and just speak to someone that will just give me the “general policy” info.

I have taken 3 AP classes so far and will be taking four more my junior year, my course work is pretty rigorous
I’m and Asian female who wants to do Pre-Med and Major in History
I’ve worked at Appplebees for over a year and am the head (expert) hostess and am responsible for training new hostesses
For the past 2 summers I have interned at the hospital and have accumulated 75+ hours, I took blood pressure, filed papers, pushed wheelchairs, read to cancer patients and aided nurses
I’ve been a member of the Key Club since freshman year and Junior year I was junior rep. My responsibilities included checking in all juniors and singing them in at meetings and making sure they maintain the 15 hours requirement, I also participated In Relay for Life a Walk to raise funds for cancer and this I will be on the coordinating committee for cy-fair, Through key club I have accumulated 175 volunteer hours
Now and for my senior year I will be the historian and will be responsible for making our scrapbook for competition, taking pictures of events and promoting key club and I am an honorary member of Kiwanis which is the organization that heads key club
I been involved in competitive cheer-leading for the prodigy all stars for nearly 2 years competed
senior level 3 and won NCAA 1st place champs and GOA grand champs, practice 4 hours a week and 8 hours during competition season
I’ve been involved with HOSA (Health Occupants Students of America) since my sophomore year
Junior Year I was the secretary and I was responsible for maintaining the member checklist and overseeing service hours, I participated in 2 walks and organized and helped coordinate a walk to raise money for epilepsy, I also participated in a blood drive as a volunteer and designed bracelets to sell in order tor raise money build a well in Africa, In HOSA we also promoted the awareness of infectious diseases every month such as aids and malaria, and My senior I will be the president as I just won the officer election for the 2011-212 school year, accumulated 80 hours of volunteer work through HOSA
Senior through the HSTE III program I will be training as a pharmacy technician and doing hospital rotations in different departments such as cardiology and radiology while learning right beside real doctors and pharmacists! Open only to seniors and is highly competitive
Member of the PALs (peer assistance leadership) Mentor young students and we ourselves raise funds for the mentor program through fundraising as the district does not provide funds, the students efforts keeps the program alive also through, PALs I have helped organized the local special Olympics and have helped recruit volunteers! Have accumulated nearly 50 volunteer hours through PALs
Will my achievements stand out, I have been committed to HOSA and key club and to community involvement, also my interest in the medical field field with my work in HOSA and the internship at the Hospital! Will my rank and gpa affect my chances, my essays and recontaminations will be spectacular, I can promise! I would love some advice!
