I need to decide what to major in in college, and I don’t know… I’m strongly considering some sort of medical career. I want a job with decent/regular hours, not too much stress, but I can live with some, and of course something that doesn’t get too boring or repetitive. I have a very wide range of interests, so I would like a job where I learn some new things and get to use my skills/knowledge. I would really love to be able to take a vacation every once in a while. If that’s not too demanding, it would help if i had a job where i can start working with a bachelor’s degree, and the choice to pursue a master’s if i wanted (but this isn’t important). Of course, some really good pay would be great too.
So what sounds like a good medical profession for me? What about specialist jobs, like veterinary medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, radiology, neurology, physician assistant, etc.?
This is probably unimportant, but I also like foreign languages, psychology, and computer science.
Any help would be appreciated!

Freshman year – I got straight B’s and one A in Math during semester 2.

Summer – Took history and got an A

Sophomore year – Semester 1 – 2 B’s, 1 C in physics, and withdrew from math. Also, I spent this semester taking classes for another major…radiation therapy. Semester 2 – got a 3.75 gpa and declared my biology major

Summer – Took 2 classes and got an A in both of them.

Junior year (NOW) – Semester 1 got a 4.0 and I DEFINITELY PLAN ON KEEPING THIS UP for the rest of my college career. I am taking only the minimum amount of units to stay full time which pretty much assures me that a 4.0 is achievable.

I plan on graduating in a total of 5 years which means I have 5 more semesters to go. As of now I am starting an internship at a hospital and planning to spend next summer volunteering abroad in a hospital setting. My major is Biology with an emphasis in Physiology and double minoring in chemistry and communications. I calculated my GPA and if I do get straight A’s until I graduate my GPA would only be a 3.715

Also, one thing that might play a role is that I am what is called “disadvantaged”…parents have minimum education, low income, Im a minority and a woman.

Realistically speaking…what are my chances of getting accepted to medical school? Also, I am much more interested in Osteopathic Medical School. I would greatly appreciate your truthful opinion.
