I have been searching for programs here in LA regarding limited xray so I can just sit for the ARRT exams. So far I found one but it does not start till Feb 2010. Anybody know how to further the MRI career? What other certs can I take so that I’m advance in terms of skills? So far, nobody is really moving around for MR techs due to the economy.
I’m almost finished with my radiologic technology schooling from an accredited program and I’m looking for somewhere to receive a MRI certificate. Is there really that many out there, or is it mostly on the job training? I’m going into radiation therapy in a few years, but would like to have the ability to work in the MRI field in the mean time. I’m looking for locations near Toledo, Ohio and Pensacola, Florida. Any help is appreciated, I can’t find anything specific in google searches where it just brings up x-ray tech schools. Thanks!
The correct title is Radiologic Technologist and California has many schools, check out the link. www.csrt.org/schools.pdf
I just graduated from high school. And i am really interested in becoming a MRI Technician but i find alot of misleading information on the internet.
Are a Radiologist technician and a MRI Technician the same thing? I know that radiololgies and MRI’s are totallt different.
And how do the salaries differ between the different MRI Technicians?

In general, MRI techs usually go to school for radiologic technology first, then cross-train in MRI.

I’m looking for a MRI school, does anyone know one that is in Georgia or near Georgia. I keep searching but can’t find any school. Thank you very much.
They are an employment agency. If it’s working directly with them, it depends because each branch is a franchise, I believe.
Chain staffing agencies tend to have stricter quotas on calls made, candidates interviewed, etc.
Are you sure it’s a direct position with MRI and not a job they want to place you in?
I’m interested in getting some insight from actual MRI technicians. Are there many job openings, what is daily work like, is it boring or stressful, is it competitive, is there any safety hazards, how is pay for your area, are there night shifts? I appreciate any useful, honest information about this career field.
