I want to get into ultra sound or as a x-ray tech, where should I start? Where would I find an accredited program?

better career prospects? pay? relocation ? anyone in either of these two careers

I would hopefully one day become a radiologist and examine x-rays and such. The school I’m going to offers an associates in radiography but I don’t know if I should get into the program. I think I should know how to work with x-rays and the machines before I get into the big stuff like diagnosing people like a radiologist. Tips please?

What are some of the skills and qualities that I should stress in the essay? If you are a sonography technician. what made you become one and what do you enjoy about the work?

There are two seperate interviews at different hospitals.

I live in Conroe TX and don’t know of any ultrasound school around here. Any suggestions are appreciated. =)

what i mean do rad techs have to get special training for ct scans and mri or will i learn that during my clinical studies .

I disagree, respectfully, with Dr. K. Getting into a radiologic technology program was difficult. There wasn’t a waiting list, but there are always more applicants than spaces available. When I applied, I applied to multiple schools. I was accepted to two of the eight or so that I applied to. I was lucky and had parents who could support me irregardless of what town and program accepted me. The program I attended had over 200 applicants for SIX spaces. Although it was difficult to get into and the training was fairly intense, it was well worth it!
You will also need more than a high school diploma or GED to attend a RT program. I had to spend 1.5 years at my local community college, getting my prerequisite courses completed, before I could even apply to a RT program.

Also, is there an ultrasound school in Missouri?

What can of jobs cab i get before i get into the program so i have some knowledge before i get into it. Can i be a radiology tech before im certified like a pharmacy tech?
