I’ve decided to go back to school to get my Bachelor’s degree and have worked in healthcare for 10 years. I currently work as a Radiation Therapist and have an AAS in Medical Radiography.

Should I go for the BS in Medical Imaging & Therapy or BS in Public Health? I want to go on to get my Master’s in Healthcare Administration once I get my Bachelor’s degree.

Which would be the best choice with the MHA in mind? I don’t want to be limited to just the Radiology field forever that’s why I thought of the public health. Any other ideas?

I will be going to NAU.

I have a BA in English, but would really like to go back to school so that I can work in the medical field. While there are associates programs in some of the programs I am interested in (respiratory therapy, radiation therapy, diagnostic medical ultrasound), there are bachelor’s programs too. As a bachelor’s is more marketable, I am leaning more in the direction of getting a second four year.
My question is, as a recent graduate of a BA (less than 5 years ago) would I just be able to take the program-specific courses and complete the degree in less than 4 years?

I’m 28 & a mother of 2 girls (one is 7 and one is 8 months). I started college 6 years ago & finished my freshmen year- just taking the basic credits you need for anything. I finally started back this fall semester . Originally I was going to go to school for Interior Design, then I kind of got talked out of it by my family (they said, “no guarantee you’ll make money or get a job doing it” )and they suggested nursing. All the schools have at least a 5 year wait for nursing- so that’s out. Then I decided to do Radiologic Technology (ie MRI’S & Sonograms) but the only school w/ a program for that has classes 8am-8pm- the schedule isn’t flexible.. with 2 small girls- i’d never see them. So how did you decide what to go to school for? My heart is def in the arts area- i took a bunch of electives this semester and they are all art classes… webpage/photoshop to interior design for offices to Jewely etc.. Any suggestions on how to figure out what to do?
Well even the nursing thing is something i’d be really into.. but my passion/my heart is in art and interior design. I’ve thought about being a teacher… how do you decide what you want to do? Like there are tons of degrees in the art field.. i’d love to do webpage design etc- but the market is so over-saturated i think it would be a really hard career

I just recently registered for my freshman fall classes. I am going my A.A.S.. My major is radiography and it is a two year course. With an A.A.S. I am prepared right for the work force. I just wanted to know if an A.A.S. is going to get me far into the my field of work. If you continued your education how did you go about obtaining your bachelor’s degree? After I do my two years at my college I want to transfer into a university hospital. How do I go about finding classes?

I have been very interested in going to school to become a ultrasound technician. I know there are several schools such as Sanford Brown/Apollo College that offers a program for this but I have heard that many hospitals wont hire you based on some of the colleges and that your safest bet is to go to a community college for it. If you are an ultrasound technician or employed in a hospital/Drs office, did you get a good job placement when you graduated and what do you recommend?
