Radiology technician vs Radiation therapist. In california?

Ok, lemme start telling you what I know and what i don’t understand.
A radiology technician takes x-rays and can also learn how to do MRI and CTs. From my point of view this could be a good career option cause one specializes in differents sectors so that will always have a job. Either doing CTs, MRIs, or xrays. But, in city college take 36 months to become a radiology technician, and according to bls.com his salary would be lower than a radiation therapist.

Radiation Therapist specializes in using a defined amount of radiation to help ppl diagnosed with cancer. TArgeting the zone would shrink or stop the growth of the cancer (if all goes well). This sounds better to me cause It helps the needy and is very motivating. But career-wise will have it’s limitations in finding jobs because it targets ‘only’ ppl with cancer.
In the city college it takes 27 months to get an A.S degree and ending up having an higher salary than the radiology technician…which does not makes sense to me.

If you were to advice me what route to take, assuming I would enjoy doing any of them to help ppl getting better, what would you recommend me?
