I Am Looking To Start A New Career As A X-ray Technician, Where Do I Start. Can I Start Online?


I live in San Diego County, 41 years old, stay home dad with three kids, I do part time Ebay for some extra income, and my wife has a great job. My youngest will be in kindergarten this year, And I will be looking into getting training for a new path in life. I am hearing that the medical field is a good direction to move towards, specifically radiology, X Ray Tech maybe?
Where do I start???

    The people who work in hospitals are called radiologic technologists, not x-ray technicians. You may be able to take some prerequisite classes online, but accredited radiography programs are generally 40 hours per week for 2 years.

    Yes you can start online. You can do the basic classes online (english, math, biology, history, electives etc) if they offer it,,and most colleges do, if not all now a days. First find a local collage that has the program. Schedule an appointment with the Rad Tech program director so you can get more info on the curriculum. Eventually you’ll have to attend class for the practical learning sections and clinicals. Good luck!
