Did you get an ultrasound photo of your babys gender?

My ultrasound tech was wonderful! However she worked for our hospital, so maybe she followed the rules a little bit more. She acknowledged that the baby was a girl, but was unable to print out a photo the actual gender, I saw it on the screen, though. She said that printing the photo out, would create a liability. However, every time I’m online I see plenty of people who have gender ultrasound pics, do ultrasound techs not follow the rules? Did you ultrasound tech tell you s/he wasn’t allowed to be 100%? I just wasn’t sure if it was a practice at my hospital or not.
I didn’t care what the gender. My husband is out of town working and was unable to attend the ultrasound and wanted reassurance he wasn’t getting a boy! A bunch of you are dead on that she said if she printed out the photo she could get sued. I would never sue her. I just wanted to know if this was a practice anywhere else. =)
I do plan on getting a 3d/4d with my husband later in the pregnancy, so my husband can see!

    how weird.

    what liability would there be?

its your child, you have the right to have whatever ultrasound pictures you want.

Some places aren’t allowed to even tell you gender much less print it off –

She’s not lying about that – and they aren’t ever allowed to say 100% – ultrasounds can be wrong

**Edit: TD me all you wish but not too long ago too many abortions were being done because they didn’t have the “right” gender for that pregnancy – this is when they stopped saying 100% if you were lucky enough to even be told -

That’s weird. I have never heard of printing ultrasound photo’s being a liability for gender. My OB did all my ultrasounds and printed off pictures for me showing my son’s gender and feet, and everything. When I was at the hospital the nurses printed me photo’s too and so did the specialist I went to for my GDM. Nobody can really sue a hospital for telling the wrong gender, all she would have to say was it’s a girl, here is the picture but keep in mind it may not be 100%. She just sounds paranoid to me.

With my son, the tech printed a gender pic and typed “I’m a boy” with an arrow pointing to his penis. This was at cleveland clinic. I’ve never heard of that being a liability but its hard telling these days. Sometimes they print a lot of pics for the dr to review…you can ask your dr if there is one were you can see the gender and ask to have a copy. Hope this helps. Good luck and congratulations! :)

I only got pics of the gender when we went to one of those elective ultrasound facilities where you pay for like the 3D images. The tech from my actual doctor’s office didn’t give us any gender shots, but she didn’t give any reason about liabilities or anything.

They aren’t suppose to. They legally aren’t allowed to but people do it all the time. Especially if you are on a military base. I simple told the tec I wouldn’t sue her if she was wrong and that I’d be happy either way, and she went ahead and printed mine
