Aniexty? Stress? Over Nothing? =(?

I had an infection in my belly button a little over a week ago, it was very painful, went to the er they sent me home, then went to NYU med center next to my job. They did a cat scan and took a sample of the pus. Cat scan came back ok, except they said “i have extra skin growing around my belly button” i asked if that was bad and she said “no”. so i got the results back and it came back as a minor staff infection. I have been having major aniexty the past week that there is really something else very wrong. It has cleared up with the antibiotics, but i really want a second opition. Can i do that if there is no symptoms? How would I? I cant shake this feeling? Is it silly for me to think this if I did recieve a CAT scan and no red flags popped up? Ive never been like ths my whole life, and its driving me nuts. Anyone relate or help? Id really appreciate it

if it makes you feel better, calms your nerves, then get a second opinion. but since it is clearing up chances are the first doctor was right. you know what they: better to be safe than sorry. good luck!

Firstly, I’m soo sorry about your infection. That must have been awful but I’m glad you’re feeling better now. That’s excellent news.

About your concerns – I think that if you want a second opinion you should definitely seek one. I would go to your regular general practitioner (doctor) first and explain the situation to them. If they don’t listen to you I would go back to NYU and consult with the doctor who treated you and tell them your concerns.

I can relate because I needed heart surgery and the doctor said there was nothing wrong with me. I eventually got the surgery I needed but if I hadn’t kicked up a fuss I could have been in serious trouble.

Just remember that no one knows your body better then you, and if you don’t feel right it’s best to do something about it. Don’t stop till you’re satisfied that you’re ok.

Hope everything works out and that you’re fit and healthy and you find the care you need/ are looking for. All the best!
