My ultrasound tech was wonderful! However she worked for our hospital, so maybe she followed the rules a little bit more. She acknowledged that the baby was a girl, but was unable to print out a photo the actual gender, I saw it on the screen, though. She said that printing the photo out, would create a liability. However, every time I’m online I see plenty of people who have gender ultrasound pics, do ultrasound techs not follow the rules? Did you ultrasound tech tell you s/he wasn’t allowed to be 100%? I just wasn’t sure if it was a practice at my hospital or not.
I didn’t care what the gender. My husband is out of town working and was unable to attend the ultrasound and wanted reassurance he wasn’t getting a boy! A bunch of you are dead on that she said if she printed out the photo she could get sued. I would never sue her. I just wanted to know if this was a practice anywhere else. =)
I do plan on getting a 3d/4d with my husband later in the pregnancy, so my husband can see!
My wife is getting an HSG (hysterosalpingography) procedure tomorrow and I wasn’t there for the initial consult. Are there any concerns about the nuclear dye or x-rays, especially because we are hoping for a healthy egg… Just worried about zapping the ovaries just prior to ovulation. Any help on direction or questions we should ask prior to the procedure would be great…
After you pass the ARRT and become certified as a Radiologic Tech, how long is the on the job training for CT or MRI? Can the training be completed in a few months?
I recently read an article about the naked x-ray machines they want to put into airports and it disghust me beyond compare. Firstly how is a saved naked picture of you or your loved ones better than a less than thurough pat down? And yes someone will abuse this technology because the TSA is an inept organization that hires more high school kids than almost anyone else. Why is everyone so scared? You are more likely to be killed by a falling coconut than a terrorist let alone on an airplane. No intelligent terrorist is going to try anything else on a plane. Beside insnt airline travel shitty enough already with having someone see you nude. I actually feel less safe on airplanes since 9/11 because the TSA is so imcometent it is astounding. And all you people who say your safety is more important than my provacy are screwing the rest of us. It is you who allowed things like the patriot act. Those are rights we will never get back. Give up your rights but dont fck with mine and get a spine
I love all of these people who say if you dont like it leave. Sorry to inform you that the goverment is not your friend. It does not have your best interests at heart. They want your rights. Without millions of americans like me we would probably be living in a totalitarian state…well more of a totalitarian state. So why should i leave. Unlike you i refuse to let fear or the goverment tell me how to live my life. We are the greates country in the world because we have freedom but each and every day we find a new right and a new provilige to take away all becasue people are unwilling to face their fear. So no i wont leave.
BTW more americans have been killed domestically by other americans and home grown terrotists than have ever been killed by muslim terrorists. Not all muslims want to kill us you ignorant fools. You should actually be more afrad of your neighbor than of Ackmhed
Does anyone know of any accredited ultrasound technician online schools? I already have a BA in Elementary Education and would like to also have a degree as a ultrasound technician.
Here’s the joke: Mr.Tom applied to a medical school and didn’t make it. Wanna know why?
These are the answers he wrote in his entrance exam:

cardiology- advance study of poker playing
cat scan- searching for lost kitty
chronic- neck of a crow
coma- punctuation mark
cortisone- area around local court
cyst- short for sister
diagnosis- person with slanted nose
dislocation- in this place
duodenum- couple in blue jeans
enema- not a friend
PLEASE STAR THIS QUESTION IF YOU LIKED THE JOKE!

i want to change career and pursue this two career option and i want to study or do it in less then two year but I’m looking for a good school around San Diego, CA area, a good school with good reputation of graduated student and low education cost and tuition. please hep. thanks in advance.
MRI research seemed so appealing. Now I’m in it. I can do research in any MRI subject I want. But instead I’m dying, lost and alone. The department needs somone else… Not someone like me who just came from uni. They need a Post-Doc or Prof to give some type of direction. I can’t do this. I don’t know where to go to. I can’t do it.
Should I quit my job to clean toilets?
(this is no joke about cleaning toilets. My Country forces people to take any possible job and there are a lot of cleaning vacancies,)

Is there any place in Michigan where I can get help with gas to take my daughter to her doctor’s appointment?
My 15 month old daughter is scheduled to get an MRI at a children’s hospital 100 miles away this Wednesday. This is the closest hospital that can do it because she will have to be sedated because of her age. It is very important that she get this done because they suspect that she suffered brain damage at birth that has resulted in motor and language delays. The problem is that we do not have the money right now to drive this far with gas at a gallon. Where can we get help to get our daughter to her appointment?
I live in rural Michigan. There are no buses that drive this distance and no big towns in between. I have already been trying to find help. Everyone is hurting to much from losing most of the jobs in our area to have money to spare so nobody is able to take us.
It is probably true that every hospital will sedate in an emergency. However, this is a planned MRI and the risk of injury due to the sedation is higher because she is a baby. The hospital (and us) would rather send her to a place that specializes in sedating infants and children. They don’t want to be sued and we don’t want our daughter to accidentally be hurt because the anesthesiologist is not use to sedating infants.
What is the annual salary of a Radiology Tech? I am aware of what the competitive annual salary is for a Radiology Tech, however, I am curious of what the salary might be while still in rad tech residency. I know that it is no where close to what a you will receive once you have your degree, though I want to know the salary of a radiology tech.
Ok, so I’m about 99% sure that I’m going to sign up for a radiologic technology program, and I am torn between a further concentration in nuclear medicine or MRI. I have a bachelors in psych and we reviewed many studies which used nuclear medicine scans of the brain which were amazing, and I work in a hospital, so I have encountered many MRIs. Both produce vivid images, but which is better to do as a career? or is it easier to find job placement by staying as an xray tech? Difference in salary??
Thanks!
I was reading an article and I read this comment.
forget a 4 year college
This goes to show how a 4 year degree is becoming obsolete and a burden. A recent article on msn stated that almost 60 percent of America’s workforce, those with college degrees, are working in positions in which they are over qualified for. Many positions do not even require a college degree.
GO TO VOCATIONAL SCHOOL! There are many excellent vocational programs out there and now is the time to join. Since many trade workers will be retiring soon there is a great need for people with special skills: like electricians, crane operators, and welders, to replace the workers who are retiring.
In the medical industries field there is a great shortage of MRI techs, Radiology Techs, EEG techs, RN’s (even with a 2 year voc liscense), surgical techs etc. And don’t forget about the computer industry. (Think about Bill Gates.)
Also there are a lot of excellent on line schools out there that offer just as much as the brick and morder schools do but for a much less price.
We as a country need to stop the strangle hold that 4 year universities and colleges have on us. As someone who is suffering with student loan debt even many years after graduating from an overpriced over inflated 4 year university, I know the importance of giving my children the advantage of training for a good job without the burden of large student loan debt. With the US fluctuating job market, it is often a crap shoot on wheither or not one can find a high enough paying job to payback his/her student loans. If one cannot, forget about any kind of financial future such as being able to buy a house. There are many, like me, who are working in jobs in which we do not even use our 4 year degree(s). When I first started working in the health care field no one cared that I had a BA degree in Journalism. That would not even get me a job as a Patient Services Rep. I had to work my way up to that. What hospital employers cared about is what kind of experience I had. Up to 45% of us are working in jobs in which are degrees do not apply.
So unless you are going onto law school, medical school, or a career in social work. Forget about it.
It is time as a nation that we stopped letting 4 year institutions of learning bleed us dry.
*******
So it got me to thinking why should I waste my time and money on a business degree in Accounting/Finance when I will most likely not be working in my field.
This was the article I was reading.
http://www.usnews.com/articles/education/2008/08/08/transfer-students-feel-the-pinch-when-money-is-tight.html
What are the advantages and disadvantages of both?
For medical use, things like penetration, clarity of picture, resolution, safety etc.
Thanks
xx
Hello I hope you can help me if you are reading this. I got a tuition waiver from my state Unemployment office so that I can go to school for any one-year or less program that gives a certification at the end. I cant go for a degree or any thing like that, this is only for programs that focuses specifically on one subject and getting a person certified in that subject such as MRI Technician, Secretary, etc. So please do not suggest carreers that you need a degree, i wont be getting a degree only a certification, It is similar to if you go to a trade school for automotive tech, etc only the unemployment will not cover a trade school.
My problem is I have a criminal felony record and all my 3 convictions was in the past 18 months, the most recent one was only 4 mos ago so I cant say “it was as long time ago I am a differnet person now.” And it makes a employer paranoid of hiring me. I hope that if I go to school and get a education that it will give me a better chance at getting work.
I have no idea the class that I should take with my tuition voucher, though. I need to pick a career that would not care if I got a record or not. If i go for the wrong thing It will be pointless becuz I will get the certificate and still not be able to work becuz the employer wont hire me b/c my record. I need to find a list of some good careers for felons to work in, where background checks is uncommon, or they dont consider it a big deal if you are a felon. I know that the construction industry and restaurant industry is good for this but there is not 1 year certificate programs offered by the school that I can go to. I know that I am banned from the medical field, but I dont know the other type of jobs that refuse people with records. If you could suggest to me any career field you know of that is good for Felons and dont care about criminal background please make some suggestions to me.
Also if you have any ideas of who i could contact to ask this to please reply. I called a college counselor and they did not really know a good field for me to enter. Even if you dont know a good career for a felon , if you do know a good person or orginazation I could talk to, to find out , that would also be helpful too. Thank you in advance.
I am looking into studying medical radiation in university to become a ultrasound technician for pregnant women. I am only in the 10th grade but I need to look up the thing that I have to take in grade 11 and 12 so that I can apply for these courses. It says I need to take:
-English U, Advanced Functions U, Biology U, Chemistry U and Physics.
I was wondering if anyone can help me with a few things.
1. what does “U” stand for after all of the courses.
2. How are the courses in university ?? are they hard, fun, boring .. etc ??
3. Is it easy to find a job?
thank you!
Medical Radiation !!
Because of a loophole in the law, pedophiles can be drawn to a position of authority over juveniles in detention centers and they get to look at minors under the guise of government authority.
This should not be permitted under any authority. Homosexual pedophiles should not view minors naked under any circumstances. Not even under the guise of public safety.
If minors should be searched for contraband there should be other means such as x-rays or drug dogs.
Minors should not go through the psychological rape of being forced to demeaning rectal searches by sadistic law enforcement officials under any circumstances.
Do you agree?
To clarify my question. You don’t have to be arrested for pedophilia to be a pedophile. And everyone knows that law enforcement is shielded by the infamous “BLUE SHIELD” therefore they can get away with pedophilia and not be prosecuted.
Police have a license to kill and commit pedophilia.
It would be very easy for law enforcement to sadistically view minor children in compromising positions of power while they are naked and how many law enforcement officers don’t abuse their authority to some extent?
I am just concerned for the permanent psychological damage that crooked police and law enforcement officials are inflicting on innocent children.
We all need to protect children from any type of abuse whether it comes from a citizen or a law enforcement officer.
